We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Technician to work second shift with our ITER group at our facility in Poway, CA. Under general supervision with detailed instructions and intermittent review this position assists with the installation, testing, and documentation of production equipment and products required for manufacturing superconducting coils.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assists engineering staff and lead technicians in manufacturing development activities of superconducting coils.
Assists with the modification, fabrication, assembly, operation, installation, repair and maintenance of production and assembly equipment.
Cleans, adjusts and replaces parts on production and assembly equipment.
Operates specialized manufacturing equipment for production of superconducting coils.
Works in an open lab research environment requiring long periods of standing, walking, bending and lifting up to 50 lbs.
May operate heavy equipment (forklifts, cranes, lifts and company vehicle) to aid in the installation and removal equipment requiring a clean and valid driver’s license.
Maintains a clean work area by returning tools, equipment and materials to storage areas.
Performs other duties as assigned or required.
Typically requires high school diploma or equivalent with one or more years of experience.Must be able to work with common hand tools.
Must be able to perform a variety of routine tasks and demonstrate a good working knowledge of laboratory equipment and procedures.
Ability and willingness to work on systems which have unusual conditions such as high pressure, high voltage, high energy, cryogens, or radioactive materials.
Knowledge of computer operations and applications pertinent to the field required.
