We have an exciting opportunity for a Systems Integration Lab (SIL) Test Engineer to join GA-ASI located in Poway, CA. We are looking for experienced, cross-functional technical leaders with a strong background in Simulation and Hardware Engineering.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage simulation and hardware projects and cross-functional engineering teams as primary SIL Engineering point of contact. Execute to cost, schedule, and performance.
Work effectively with program management, senior leadership, customers, and functional engineering leads to plan and execute SIL projects/programs from cradle to grave.
Objectives are typically accomplished through matrix assigned engineering leads and/or project leaders.
Demonstrate proficiency in simulation/software and/or electrical development technologies, architectures, methodologies, processes, and the application of Systems Engineering principles to engineering development.
Must be able to lead top-down and bottom-up requirements development, simulation system architecture, reviews, development and testing, and coordinate these activities with cross functional support teams.
Create technology development strategies in alignment with product/strategic roadmaps
Ability to quickly grasp and understand the full scope of development activities and come up to speed quickly in new areas. Take on high-level problems and organize a technical path forward.
Adhere to development processes; organize and lead technical reviews and gain stakeholder approval.
Strong ability to collaborate and draw support and guidance from senior engineering staff and program management offices.
Excellent written, presentation, and verbal communication skills
Typically requires a Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution and two or more years of engineering experience with a bachelors degree.
Must have a thorough understanding of engineering concepts, principles, codes, and theory; experience demonstrating a broad application of those concepts; and, expanding knowledge of principles, concepts, theory, and practices in related technical specialties. Must possess the ability to develop and communicate new concepts; apply them accurately throughout an evolving environment; organize, schedule, and coordinate work phases; and, determine the appropriate approach at the task level or, with assistance, at the project level to provide solutions to a range of complex problems.
Must have strong communication, computer, documentation, presentation, and interpersonal skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team; able to perform complex tasks in one or more engineering areas; capable of representing the organization as a prime technical contact and, lead a team of moderately experienced professional employees on single component projects.
Able to work extended hours as required.
Must be able to obtain a DOD clearance.
