We have an exciting opportunity for a Shuttle Bus Driver to join our Facilities group located in Poway, CA. Under general supervision, this position is responsible for operating various company vehicles.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs a variety of pick-up and drop-offs and miscellaneous errands requiring long periods of sitting.
Participates in chauffeur services for company passenger vehicles, company executives, board of directors and VIP visitors.
Performs limited maintenance on vehicles such as fueling, washing, etc., drives vehicles to preventive maintenance providers.
Processes associated paperwork.
Works in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices, monitoring all operations for regulatory and safety compliance.
Performs other duties as assigned or required.
Typically requires High School diploma or equivalent and one or more years directly related experience.
Must have a valid California Class B license with a passenger endorsement, along with a clean driving record, verified by the DMV.
Must be customer focused and possess: (1) physical capability of handling awkward objects, heavy lifting up to 50 lbs., bending, climbing, as well as sitting in a variety of different sized vehicles for extended periods of time; (2) interpersonal skills and written communication skills to interface with employees and to accurately document and maintain records; and (3) basic knowledge of computer operations and applications and basic mathematical skills.
The ability to work both independently and in a team environment is essential as is the ability to work extended hours as required.
Travel is required between General Atomics building locations and within the greater San Diego area.
