We have an exciting opportunity for a Propulsion Project Engineer to join our Army Programs team in Poway, CA. This is a unique role as this person will be an integral part of a small project engineering team. This position offers a great deal of cross-functional interaction with our design and production teams internally as well as with suppliers and the customer. This team is engaged in some sustainment work however they are also managing the design of a new engine as well.
Duties and Responsibilities
Assist in support development, qualification and certification of propulsion systems and support flight and system test activities.
Coordinate investigation and corrective action of specific in-service problems involving various systems and components.
Candidate will work within a team environment to develop, coordinate, and resolve technical issues related to the propulsion system (Diesel Engine) of an unmanned air vehicle system.
Position will assist Engineering staff in resolution of issues.
Working knowledge of Matlab or equivalent.
Possess skills in data reduction and fault troubleshooting.
Strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills (both written and spoken); excellent computer, ability to demonstrate candidate is a multi-tasking team player with a hands-on approach.

Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution and four or more years of engineering experience with a Bachelor’s degree.
Must have a thorough understanding of engineering concepts, principles, codes, and theory; experience demonstrating a broad application of those concepts; and, expanding knowledge of principles, concepts, theory, and practices in related technical specialties.
Must possess the ability to develop and communicate new concepts; apply them accurately throughout an evolving environment; organize, schedule, and coordinate work phases; and, determine the appropriate approach at the task level or, with assistance, at the project level to provide solutions to a range of complex problems.
Must have strong communication, computer, documentation, presentation, and interpersonal skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team; able to perform complex tasks in one or more engineering areas; capable of representing the organization as a prime technical contact and, lead a team of moderately experienced professional employees on single component projects.
Able to work extended hours as required.
Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
Must be able to travel 25%+.
