We have an exciting opportunity for a Systems Engineer in our Army GCS (Ground Control Stations) Group located in Poway, CA. This position will support the design, development, and integration of the Army Gray Eagle GCS.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform GCS system engineering activities on the Army Gray Eagle Program of Record.

  • Actively participate in the integration, verification, validation and documentation of requirements through the system development cycle.

  • Under general supervision and with regular review, this position will support the GCS Project Engineering staff in the analysis, investigation and resolution of engineering problems of moderate scope and complexity.

  • Develop interface control documents, software requirement specifications, performance specifications, presentations and review test plans/procedures.

  • Perform requirements management utilizing requirements database (DOORS), Excel and Visio.

  • Obtain in-depth Subject Matter Expert (SME) knowledge of all GCS technical areas to include but not limited to Command and Control, Mission Planning, and Product Dissemination.

  • Responsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.

  • Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.

  • Applicant needs to be self-motivated and a self-starter.

Job Qualifications:

  • Typically requires a Bachelor's degree, Master's degree or PhD in Engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution and progressive engineering experience as follows; four or more years of experience with a Bachelor's degree or two or more years of experience with a Master's degree. May substitute equivalent engineering experience in lieu of education. Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering candidates are preferred for this position.

  • Must have a solid understanding of engineering concepts, principles, codes, and theory in their respective field; experience demonstrating a broad application of those concepts; and, expanding knowledge of principles, concepts, theory, and practices in related technical specialties. Must possess the ability to understand new concepts quickly; apply them accurately throughout an evolving environment; organize, schedule, and coordinate work phases; and, determine the appropriate approach at the task level or, with assistance, at the project level to provide solutions to a range of complex problems.

  • Must have good communication, computer, documentation, presentation, and interpersonal skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team; able to perform complex tasks in one engineering area

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance is required.

  • Have a desire to work in a fast-paced development and testing environment.

  • Must be able to work extended hours and/or travel if required to complete the assigned task.
