We have an exciting opportunity as an experienced Price Cost Analyst to work out of our Poway, CA location.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under general direction, this position is responsible for analyzing statistical and proposal data to establish recommended cost and price objectives for proposal and contract transactions with customers and suppliers
Compile and analyze cost or pricing statistical data from government or commercial databases, tables, and indexes
Participate in review and analysis of subcontractor or supplier proposals
Conduct fact finding at supplier locations as needed to review basis of estimates and source documentation verifying proposal cost estimates
Establish reasonableness of cost and pricing and provide recommended price positions to support negotiations with customer and suppliers
Participate in cost and pricing reviews with management, customer, and supplier representatives.
Use industry techniques and practices to conduct fact-finding (audits) to establish fair and reasonable pricing positions and negotiation ranges.
Utilize experience in price/cost analysis to support Department of Defense (DOD) programs, and interface with government auditing agencies (DCAA/DCMA).
Utilize knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR/DFAR) and the government procurement process.
Performs other duties as assigned or required.
Typically requires a bachelor's degree and ten or more years of experience in finance, accounting, or business administration in a manufacturing environment. Equivalent experience may be substituted in lieu of education.
Must demonstrate: (1) a thorough understanding of the concepts, principles, and standard practices of costing and pricing projects; (2) experience working in a government contracting environment including interfacing with audit agencies such as the DCMA or the DCAA; (3) a working knowledge of FAR, DFAR, and/or CAS regulations; (4) the ability to understand new concepts quickly and apply them in an evolving environment while contributing to the development of new processes. Must be customer focused and possess: (1) the ability to identify issues, analyze data and develop solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity; (2) good analytical, verbal and written communication skills to accurately document, report, and present findings; (3) good interpersonal skills enabling an effective interface with other professionals; (4) good computer skills with knowledge of software applications relevant to the position, including spreadsheet developments; (5) the ability to work independently or lead in a team environment; and (6) the flexibility to work extended hours and travel when required.
Must have familiarity with the government procurement process.
Prior experience in price/cost analysis supporting Department of Defense (DOD) programs and experience interfacing with government auditing agencies (DCAA/DCMA) is preferred.
