We have an exciting opportunity as an experienced Price Cost Analyst to work out of our Poway, CA location.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Under general direction, this position is responsible for analyzing statistical and proposal data to establish recommended cost and price objectives for proposal and contract transactions with customers and suppliers

  • Compile and analyze cost or pricing statistical data from government or commercial databases, tables, and indexes

  • Participate in review and analysis of subcontractor or supplier proposals

  • Conduct fact finding at supplier locations as needed to review basis of estimates and source documentation verifying proposal cost estimates

  • Establish reasonableness of cost and pricing and provide recommended price positions to support negotiations with customer and suppliers

  • Participate in cost and pricing reviews with management, customer, and supplier representatives.

  • Use industry techniques and practices to conduct fact-finding (audits) to establish fair and reasonable pricing positions and negotiation ranges.

  • Utilize experience in price/cost analysis to support Department of Defense (DOD) programs, and interface with government auditing agencies (DCAA/DCMA).

  • Utilize knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR/DFAR) and the government procurement process.

  • Performs other duties as assigned or required.

Job Qualifications:

  • Typically requires a bachelor's degree and ten or more years of experience in finance, accounting, or business administration in a manufacturing environment. Equivalent experience may be substituted in lieu of education.

  • Must demonstrate: (1) a thorough understanding of the concepts, principles, and standard practices of costing and pricing projects; (2) experience working in a government contracting environment including interfacing with audit agencies such as the DCMA or the DCAA; (3) a working knowledge of FAR, DFAR, and/or CAS regulations; (4) the ability to understand new concepts quickly and apply them in an evolving environment while contributing to the development of new processes. Must be customer focused and possess: (1) the ability to identify issues, analyze data and develop solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity; (2) good analytical, verbal and written communication skills to accurately document, report, and present findings; (3) good interpersonal skills enabling an effective interface with other professionals; (4) good computer skills with knowledge of software applications relevant to the position, including spreadsheet developments; (5) the ability to work independently or lead in a team environment; and (6) the flexibility to work extended hours and travel when required.

  • Must have familiarity with the government procurement process.

  • Prior experience in price/cost analysis supporting Department of Defense (DOD) programs and experience interfacing with government auditing agencies (DCAA/DCMA) is preferred.
