We have an exciting opportunity for a SAP Business Systems Analyst to join the ITS Operations and Supply Chain Value Stream team in San Diego, CA. This position will report to the ITS Operations and Supply Chain Value Stream Manager. The ITS Operations & Supply Chain Value Stream team is responsible for sustaining and supporting as well executing numerous IT projects from its portfolio for the Manufacturing, Procurement, and Quality organizations using SAP and non-SAP applications.

DUTIES & RESONSIBILITIES

  • As part of GA’s ITS team, work with the value stream lead in building solution roadmaps and under limited direction represent the Operations and Supply Chain Value Stream as a specialist with SAP PP/MM Module.

  • Drive timely resolution of issues assigned through its entire lifecycle – Inception to Closure.

  • Able to speak the business language and translate solution in their terms.

  • Results oriented and confident in leading discussions.

  • Work partly in a support/sustainment environment as well as project based environment

  • Learns GA’s project methodology and develops project plans accordingly.

  • Adept with gathering business requirements, developing presentations and prototypes to illustrate solution options followed with detailed design, development, testing, implementation, and stabilization of end-to-end solutions.

  • Meets project milestones and deadlines in a timely manner.

  • Performs other duties as assigned or required.

Job Qualifications:

  • Typically requires a bachelor's degree in information technology or related field along with fourteen or more years of progressive experience in SAP business analysis, SAP configuration, or related experience. Equivalent professional experience may be substituted in lieu of education.

  • Must demonstrate a thorough understanding of SAP principles, theories, concepts and techniques.

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with various functions within the SAP-ECC Production Planning (PP) and Materials Management (MM) Module in a complex business environment involving discrete manufacturing and procurement

  • An expert with various production master data such as Material Masters, Material Revisions, date validity, parameter effectivity, BOMs, Work Centers, and Routings and their integration touchpoints with production planning and execution

  • An expert with thorough understanding of the entire product lifecycle management (product design through obsolescence), BOM snapshots (eBOM, mBOM, as-built BOM, as-delivered BOM, as-returned, etc.

  • Experience with designing and implementing complex engineering and production master data interfaces between 3rd party PLM, SAP, and MES systems

  • Functional knowledge on various middleware technologies such as TIBCO, PI, and MII a plus

  • An expert in understanding production master data models along with excellent analytical and problem solving skills specifically around them

  • Proficient with SD/PP integration touchpoints such as planning strategy and strategy groups, sales order entry, and planned independent requirements

  • Proficient with PP/MM Integration touchpoints such as MRP groups, subcontracting, and vendor consignment, planned order/purchase requisition or purchase requisition to Purchase Order conversion

  • Proficient with PP-MRP/PP-Shopfloor integration touchpoints such as planned order to production order conversion

  • Highly knowledgeable about various SAP user exits and BADIs as it relates to PP module

  • An expert in writing complex functional specification and work closely with ABAP developers to develop complex custom solutions in ECC

  • Lead crucial conversations during blueprinting, design, and implementation with various business stakeholders and peers from other cross-functional teams

  • Excellent troubleshooting skills in a support and project based work environment

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills as well possess the ability to work independently

  • Must have proven leadership skills including planning, scheduling, and coordinating work assignments to meet project milestones or established completion dates.

  • Must possess the ability to understand new concepts quickly and apply them in an evolving environment while contributing to the development of new processes.

  • A good team player with excellent communication and presentation skills who works collaboratively with various IT and business counterparts.

  • A self-starter, has the ability to learn new technologies, bring new ideas and solutions to resolve the problem on hand.

  • Must be customer focused and possess: (1) the ability to identify and analyze issues and develop solutions to a variety of highly complex and diverse problems; (2) excellent analytical, verbal and written communication skills to accurately document, report, and present findings; (3) excellent interpersonal skills to interface with all levels of employees, management and external contacts; (4) the ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information; and (5) excellent computer skills.
