We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Project/Manufacturing Engineer to join our GA-EMS team located in Rancho Bernardo, CA. As a member of the construction/manufacturing engineering department, the Project/Manufacturing Engineer directly supports the delivery of all hardware and documentation required by the respective contract.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for providing construction/manufacturing engineering support to GA EMS programs/projects, such as Pulsed Power for electric weapon systems.

  • Coordinates the production of specific hardware to both technical and contractual requirements.

  • Manages the delivery of specific hardware to meet schedule deadlines.

  • Identifies, investigates, analyzes and resolves routine manufacturing engineering issues at both GA EMS manufacturing facilities and sub-tier suppliers. Documents findings and implemented solutions, and communicates results to technical leads and management in both verbal and written formats.

  • Initiates and implements assigned production-related design changes and conducts manufacturing reviews of engineering specifications and drawings.

  • Monitors and analyzes open engineering issues affecting purchase orders and alerts planning department to open engineering issues that may affect manufacturing.

  • Develops shop order travelers and work instructions for production.

  • May assist with development of tooling and fixtures to support manufacturing activities.

  • Develops and updates manufacturing aides for new and existing processes and equipment.

  • Run and analyze labor reports to track budgetary goals.

  • Generates liens lists, as-built drawings lists, and production summaries and resolves issues with quality data packages to support hardware delivery.

  • Travel to Tupelo facility and/or suppliers as needed to support production needs.

  • Performs other duties as assigned or required.

Job Qualifications:

  • Typically requires a bachelors or masters degree in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution and two or more years of engineering experience with a bachelors degree. May substitute equivalent engineering experience in lieu of education.

  • Experience using Microsoft Office applications to execute daily work activities.

  • Must have a general understanding of engineering concepts, principles, and theory with technical experience demonstrating the application of those concepts while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

  • Must possess the ability to understand new concepts quickly and apply them accurately throughout an evolving environment and organize work assignments to meet established timetables.

  • Good communication, computer, documentation, presentation, and interpersonal skills are required, as well as the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

  • Experience with machining, fabrication, welding and/or shipyard construction is desired.

  • Experience with logistics in a rapidly changing environment is desired.

  • Must be able to work extended hours as required and/or needed to meet scheduled needs.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance is required.
