We have an exciting opportunity for a Project Engineer to join our GA-ASI- Mission Systems division, directly supporting the Quick Reaction Capabilities team, within Project Engineering, to lead the technical development and integration of Electronic Warfare (EW) and Signals Intelligence (SIGINT) aircraft and pod payloads.

In this role the candidate will have the opportunity to work in a cutting edge field with industry experts to specify, develop and field payloads immediately to warfighters in need of our solutions.


  • lead multi-disciplinary teams of engineers to design, specify, procure, and integrate EW/SIGINT related sensor systems for Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS). The candidate will employ their knowledge of EW/SIGINT theory of operation and concepts of employment to apply hardware and software technologies into aircraft and pod payload solutions.

  • Strong understanding and the ability to apply current SIGINT/EW technologies into integrated payload solutions.

  • Ability to lead trade studies that result in design and system architectures that meet mission needs.

  • Ability to apply knowledge of operational employment considerations and principles for EW/SIGINT systems and CONOPs.

  • Demonstrated experience planning projects and leading cross-functional engineering teams to successfully execute design and development programs.

Job Qualifications:

  • Typically requires a bachelors degree, masters degree or PhD in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution and progressive engineering experience as follows; twelve or more years of experience with a bachelors degree, ten or more years of experience with a masters degree, or seven or more years with a PhD. May substitute equivalent engineering experience in lieu of education.

  • The candidate must have expertise in one of the following technical areas and have working knowledge of the others: Electronic Warfare, Electronic Attack, Information Assurance, Signals Intelligence, COMINT, ELINT, ESM, RWR, Geolocation and Direction Finding.

  • Previous experience integrating and deploying SIGINT/EW payloads on either manned or unmanned aircraft.

  • Familiarity/past experience integrating SIGINT/EW systems into national PED architectures.

  • Knowledge/past experience with FMS and/or DCS SIGINT/EW export programs.

  • Experience as a government/military operator/user of SIGINT and/or EW payloads is desirable.

  • Previous experience integrating hardware and software solutions with engineering disciplines of mechanical, electrical, RF and software.

  • Previous experience as a technical lead in one or more engineering disciplines.

  • Previous experience leading a technical team through design review milestones, as well as integration and test activities/events.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and extensive experience working with internal and external customers.

  • Excellent written and oral communicator with experience creating and delivering executive level briefs on complex technical topics.

  • Demonstrated experience planning projects and leading cross-functional engineering teams to successfully execute programs.

  • Ability to understand new concepts quickly and apply them accurately in a dynamic work environment.

  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision.

  • Able to work extended hours as required.

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools in general and be proficient with MS Project.

  • Other duties as assigned or required.
