Job Summary:

Diazyme, an affiliate of General Atomics, is a cGMP and ISO 13485 certified medical device manufacturer. Diazyme uses its proprietary enzyme technologies to develop diagnostic reagents which can be used on most automated chemistry analyzers in user-friendly formats. Their products include test kits for diagnosis of cardiovascular disease, liver disease, cancer markers, renal disease, diabetes, and electrolytes.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Quality Control Technician in our Diazyme Laboratories group located in Poway, CA. This person will join a multidisciplinary Quality team focusing on diagnostic product Quality Control (QC) lab testing.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Follows Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to perform Quality Control Laboratory testing on Diazyme Diagnostic products or raw materials.

  • Evaluates raw materials and finished products by physical and laboratory testing methods.

  • Maintains quality documentation and change control procedures.

  • Follows all quality initiatives and processes for ISO 13485 and other ISO standards.

  • Works in a safe manner in accordance with established operating and practices.

  • Performs good manufacturing practices (GMP) and completes regulatory forms as required.

  • Works in a lab environment requiring long periods of standing, walking, bending and lifting up to 50lbs.

  • ​Performs other duties as assigned or required.

Job Qualifications:

  • Typically requires an associate's degree or trade school certification. May substitute equivalent experience as a quality technician in lieu of education.

  • Material inspection experience is desired.

  • Requires a general understanding of quality procedures in a manufacturing environment as well as basic knowledge of quality concepts and principles.

  • Must be able to read and understand basic engineering drawings and specifications.

  • Must possess:

  • 1) the ability to identify and interpret data;

  • 2) interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to explain basic information effectively to all levels of employees;

  • 3) organization skills to maintain flow of work within the unit;

  • 4) the ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information; and

  • 5) basic knowledge of computer operations and applications and word processing and spreadsheets.

  • Must be able to work both independently and in a team environment and be able to work extended hours as required.
