We a have a new opportunity for an Engineering CAM to support Cost Account Management in Poway, CA.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • May assist in the development of Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and related dictionaries. Contributes in the development and implementation of Earned Value or equivalent cost tracking methodologies, performs related variance analysis, and works with program/project managers and technical personnel to ensure uniform application of procedures. Implements reporting procedures to review project status, valuation of work in progress, as well as tracking procedures for contract deliverables. Assists in new business proposals by developing schedules and reviewing manpower and cost estimates.

  • Prepares schedules and budgets, and performs monitoring, analysis and reporting on assigned contracts.

  • Monitors and assures budget availability, proper approval authorization and charge accounts. Tracks the status of procurements for the purposes of cost reporting.

  • Develops and maintains master program schedules for assigned contracts.

  • Interfaces with operating and support groups (Purchasing, Finance, QA) to collect data for preparation of schedules and reports.

  • Provides task leaders and program managers with clear, timely and accurate information and make recommendations with which to make decisions.

  • Assists in the development of reporting procedures to evaluate project status, valuation of work in progress, and tracking of contract deliverables.

  • May contribute in the preparation of cost/schedule, variance and earned value reports/analysis.

  • Responsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.

  • Expected to maintain a productive and safe working environment in accordance with established operating procedures and practices

  • Under general supervision, plans, tracks, analyzes, and reports in accordance with procedures for projects of varying contract type, size, and complexity.

  • Works in a team environment with technical, financial, and management staff to track and control contract activity and deliverables.

  • Interacts with management to establish and maintain cost/schedule baseline and perform Estimates At Completion.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain security clearance.

Job Qualifications:

  • Typically requires education/formal training equivalent to the completion of a bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline, business administration or related discipline, along with five or more years of related experience. May substitute equivalent experience in lieu of education. BS degree in an engineering discipline desired.

  • Must have general knowledge of earned value systems in a research or production environment. Previous EVMS experience desired, must be able to complete a CAM certification within the first 6 months after hiring. Must have either engineering skills or the ability to gain an understanding of engineering issues in the conduct of the job. Possess good organizational skills.

  • An effective communicator with the ability to write, interpret and explain programmatic issues. Must have good social skills to facilitate effective interaction with engineers, program management and customer representatives.

  • Knowledgeable and experienced with the following electronic software: word processing, spreadsheet, e- mail, and project management.

  • Must be able to work extended hours and travel as required.
