We have an exciting opportunity for a Director, Configuration Data Management to join our GA-EMS team located in Rancho Bernardo, CA.
This position is responsible for overseeing the configuration management activities while leading activities for other related engineering support functions. Oversees identification, control, and accounting for systems and/or equipment in accordance with contractual requirements. Interprets, executes and recommends modifications to policy and practices. Oversees the review and analysis of release engineering change data control activities. Ensures customer support requirements and objectives are achieved within budget and on schedule. Represents the organization as a primary contact and provides leadership to lower level employees. Objectives are typically accomplished through one or more subordinate managers.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversees and directs all configuration management activities while leading activities for other related engineering support functions.
Oversee and provide recommendations to improve the organization’s configuration management activates which include; identification, control and accounting for engineering documents for systems and/or equipment in accordance with contractual requirements, as wells as development and monitoring of organization procedures for changes to engineering documents for assigned programs.
Consult with configuration management staff across various business units, program/engineering management, quality assurance and information technology to ensure that common and best-practices procedures are developed, implemented and completed.
Leads the development of solutions to a variety of complex technical and management matters.
Oversees progress planning and review sessions to discuss costs, schedule, and technical performance.
Provides leadership in the development of proposals, business plans, work statements and specifications, operating budgets and financial terms/conditions of configuration contract(s).
Collaborates in the development and implementation of organization wide initiatives as well as long term planning.
Represents the organization as a primary interface with internal functional groups as well as outside representatives.
Oversees the planning, attraction, selection, retention, and development of human resources to ensure the availability of the required professional talent.
Maintains the strict confidentiality of sensitive information.
Performs other duties as assigned or required.

Clearance Level: Secret
Typically requires a bachelor’s degree and fifteen or more years of progressive configuration management experience with at least nine of those years managing configuration processes and/or people. May substitute equivalent experience in lieu of education.
Active DoD Secret Security Clearance is required.
Demonstrated proficiency with configuration applications such as Windchill is required.
Prefer demonstrated experience with SAP.
Must have demonstrated expertise in a production environment.
Must demonstrate a detailed and extensive expertise of configuration principles, concepts and practices.
Must possess comprehensive project management and leadership skills to include the ability to organize, schedule, conduct, and coordinate workloads and staff to meet established deadlines.
Must be able to resolve highly complex and unusual management and technical problems while serving as spokesperson on configuration and other engineering support issues. Strong communication, leadership, presentation, and interpersonal skills are required to enable an effective interface with others.
Must be customer focused, demonstrate high initiative, perform effectively in a team environment, and be able to work extended hours and travel as required.
