We have an exciting opportunity for an Associates Computer Systems Engineer in our Army Ground Control Station (GCS) Group located in Poway, CA. This position will support the design, development, and integration of the Army Gray Eagle GCS. The applicant will have the opportunity to learn and work with advanced virtual environments and complex networked systems that are controlled from anywhere in the world.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform GCS system engineering activities on the Army Gray Eagle Program of Record
Actively participate in the integration, verification, validation and documentation of requirements through the system development cycle
Under general supervision and with regular review, this position will support the GCS Project Engineering staff in the analysis, investigation and resolution of engineering problems of moderate scope and complexity
Develop interface control documents, software requirement specifications, performance specifications, presentations and review test plans/procedures
Perform software installations on the GCS and support any relevant troubleshooting
Perform functional testing and troubleshooting of equipment and systems by utilizing standard engineering and scientific principles
Obtains and analyzes data from development, production or field related activities and provides root cause corrective actions to identified issues
Develop or modify procedures used in production and field environments
Responsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company
Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices
Applicant needs to be self-motivated and a self-starter
Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution. May substitute equivalent engineering experience in lieu of education.
Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering candidates are preferred for this position
Must have a broad understanding of engineering concepts, principles, codes, and theory in your respective field
Must have good communication, computer, documentation, presentation, and interpersonal skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team
Working knowledge of Linux and/or Windows operating systems is required
Working knowledge of scripting languages (ex. Python) is required
Working knowledge of networking concepts and principles is desired, but not required
Have a desire to work in a fast-paced development and testing environment
Must be able to work extended hours and travel as needed
Must be flexible to travel on short notice, possibly for extended periods of time, to Flight Test Facilities and Customer Sites
Ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance is required
