Under general supervision and with on-going review, this position supports the manufacturing and engineering staff in the analysis, investigation and resolution of engineering problems at General Atomics Aeronautical systems in the high desert. You will perform manufacturing engineering functions across multiple internal and external support groups. You will be improving production efficiency and providing training to other workers, developing and maintaining work instructions, dispositioning discrepant hardware and supporting day-to-day the manufacturing process.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and improve production efficiency by studying product and manufacturing methods.

  • Identify issues, conduct failure investigations, perform root cause analysis and corrective actions

  • Disposition discrepancies

  • Provide engineering suggestions and streamline processes

  • Aid management to clearly identify future requirements of manufacturing

  • Provide technical support to floor and field technicians, review specifications and drawings. Modify as needed.

  • Exemplary written and oral communication skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft suite programs (Word, Excel, Project, Outlook)

  • Maintains product and company reputation by complying with government regulations.

  • Perform additional duties as needed

  • Provide training to other employees #LI-KP1

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution.

  • May substitute equivalent engineering experience in lieu of education.

  • 4+ years of experience with BS degree, 2+ years of experience with Master's degree

  • Must be a U.S. citizen

Desired skills:

  • Experience with CAD software (CREO), ERP systems (SAP), Data acquisition (Lab View)

  • Experience with Lean manufacturing processes
