We have an exciting opportunity for a Manufacturing Support Technician in our Advanced Product Development Department located in Adelanto, California.

Under general supervision with detailed instructions and intermittent review, this position will performs and/or assists in modification, fabrication, assembly, operations, installation, repair and maintenance of general laboratory, experimental or commercial equipment. Performs non-routine manufacturing of composite and metal parts and structures. Works to blueprints, templates, sample parts, process sheets, and other authorized information.


  • Work with engineers to create, modify, and test products while solving technical problems.

  • Performs prototype manufacturing from visual/verbal descriptions, sketches, blue prints, templates, guides or specific dimensions, and sample parts.

  • Designs and builds prototype tooling/molds for composite parts. Develops shop aids to facilitate fabrication, trimming and assembly as required.

  • Fit and smooth successive layers of composite materials as necessary to secure build-up free from wrinkles, air pockets.

  • Assemble aircraft components using structural adhesives, rivets and threaded fasteners.

  • Fabricate steel/aluminum structures and form sheet metal parts using a variety of machinist hand tools and precision measuring instruments such as drill presses, lathes, manual mills, saws, breaks, grinding equipment, welders and others as required.

  • Responsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company. Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.

  • Help maintain and clean and safe work area by retuning tools, equipment and materials to storage areas, preforming housekeep duties as needed.

  • Other duties as assigned or required.

Job Qualifications:

  • Typically requires associate's degree or equivalent with two or more years of experience. May substitute equivalent experience in lieu of education.

  • Must be able to work with common hand tools and operate laboratory equipment.

  • Must have the capability to perform complex assignments with little or no direction.

  • Ability and willingness to work on systems which have unusual conditions such as high pressure, high voltage, high energy, cryogens, or radioactive materials.

  • Knowledge of computer operations and applications pertinent to the field required.
